Energy Networks Association Urges Consumers to Prepare for Beast From The East 2

Free 105 phone line ready to support people if Beast From The East 2 causes power cuts

In light of the weather warnings issued for the UK from Friday to Sunday, people are reminded they can call 105 - the free national phone line – if the forecasted weather does damage their local power network and affects their electricity supply.

105 is available to people in England, Scotland and Wales, regardless of who they buy electricity from, and is the easy way for people to get through to their local electricity network operator to report or get information about a power cut in their area.

Further information about 105 and electricity network operators can be found at www.powercut105.com.

The number was launched following research which revealed 72% of people don’t know who to contact if they have a power cut, with a further 43% indicating that they would incorrectly call the electricity supplier they pay their bill to.
