Responding to the report, David Smith, Chief Executive of Energy Networks Association, said:
“Hydrogen-ready boilers are vital to ensuring that people have the clean heat they need in their homes at the times when they need it the most. So we welcome the CBI’s recommendation that from 2025, all new boilers should be hydrogen-ready.
“It’s also important that we don’t forget the supporting infrastructure that we all need to deliver those boilers. This report shows how we can decarbonise our homes and businesses in a way that works with people’s needs, not against them, but only by building a zero carbon gas grid can we deliver on that.”
